+ SUM UP OF A FASHION WEEK HOE

Well now that's all over we can all return to our normal average day jobs
and stop acting like were someone big and important strutting our shit in head to toe designer wear.
I guess all those "fashion" bloggers must be suicidal now that they have nothing to write about and don't seem as important to the fashion society anymore. i said it BUT you were thinking it!
haha im mean, im sorry. i love you bloggers.
i guess im kinda one... but not really.  more a person with too much time on her hands an access to a blog page.

Ok so here we go my sum up of MBFWA:
What did i think: A tad dull
Was i inspired: No, until i saw the pics from Jenny Kee's runway show
My stand outs: Michael Lo Sordo's prints, Flowers for a Vagabond's fringing and metallic's & everything from Romance was Born and Jenny Kee.
Did i pick up any new labels: Nope
One sentence to describe the whole feel of fashion week: very tamed, very safe, VERY SYDNEY!

Now don't get me wrong, im no debbie downer that just goes hatin' on everything, all the collections and runway show's i saw were extremely beautiful collections but as a buyer who is looking to buy for my store in particular, there was hardly anything. As you have seen (hopefully) the style i go for here is a more eccentric slash unique look. I don't buy "safe" garments. I buy garments that are different, that 20 thousand other stores won't have. My customers appreciate design and infuse art into there wardrobes & are not afraid to stand out and look different. They create there own style not follow trends.
But no matter what your style is we do appeal to your normal cookie cutters as well, for some ppl may like to team there more out there items with a pair skinnies and be done with it and look smoking! So cookie cutters don't be afraid to step foot in here, We may look scary in our possum fur scarves and black lips but all our garments & accessories can be dressed up or down depending on who's wearing it and what your style is!

My Fav's:

 +MICHAEL LO SORDO
My very talented friend & sugar daddy has really wowed me this year- those prints ARE SHIT HOT!!!
Can't wait to get our hands on these!
(pics stolen from Breakfast with Audrey & from Michaels facebook page!)

+FLOWERS FOR A VAGABOND
Another very talented friend and a label that has been with us since we opened, were so proud of Toby who has really upped the anti and created some pimpin' hot looks! The fringing and metallics got me jumping for joy!

-----------------------------------------------------------------

+JENNY KEE
The most inspiring show!  Even though i didn't even attend this show- looking at pics i was dying a little inside. The prints, the styling- everything just has the wow factor!
(pics taken from the Oyster facebook page)
------------------------------------------------------------

+ROMANCE WAS BORN
I have always been a keen fan of theirs, im always so excited to see what whacky shit they have designed and what i need to sell my ass on the streets for to be able to save up and buy.
If only i could stock them in my store..
(again pics taken from Oyster facebook)

+DIARY OF A FASHION WEEK HOE//: DAY 4

Going to quiet a few showings before i see the runway shows has
turned to be a good move, (not only me but others too)  have noticed ALOT of the shows have
been way over styled. Sometimes it's good to listen to that old tart Coco Chanel and "before you leave the house take one accessory off" or whatever it is... i dont even know if thats by chanel haha
Anyway matter of the point is sometimes less is more!
I know thats a bit rich coming from me as my motto is "before you leave the house, add 5 extra accessories to your outfit" but hey thats just my schizophrenic style and the way i like it but when it comes to selling/ buying clothes i don't want to be shielded from seeing the actually garment or have the attention taken away from looking at the horrid accessory thats been plastered all over it.

Todays outfit:

+iv been waiting till i was a little more thinner to wear this awesome dress but seeing as thats just not happening anytime this century i thought id rock it out in my "fuller figure" and hope for the best!
Its by far the coolest item in my wardrobe, i pretty much creamed my pants when it arrived last season, cant believe i haven't worn it yet!

+Wearing: Emma Mulholland dress & tooth necklace, Therese Rawsthorne jacket
and yes those bloody yellow boots AGAIN!

On today's list:
+NEW GENERATION runway show
*sneak peek*
A professional bloggers photography Vs my (extremely shit) photography skills :
                                                                   +ELLIAT
Beautiful sequined and printed garments with a soft feminine touch

                                                       +COLLECTING PRETTY BOYS
Dark edgy rockers using a mix leather, fur and prints.
I lost my shit when i saw that goat hair jacket with dip dyed ends (left pic)

+TOVAH
Again another pretty girly collection, but with a sport luxe feel and these super cute visors.

The (better) pro pics i took from the Breakfast with Audrey facebook page, and i noticed that every time you take a pic from someone else your supposed to credit them or something?? well there you go it's from them..not me.. i said something!

(who made this shit rule up?? who fricken cares where it came from, i doubt anyone really gives a shit!
just saying...)

+DIARY OF A FASHION WEEK HOE//: DAY 3

Today is a little less hectic,
THANK FUCK.
I was starting to get a tad drained runing from showing to showing. Being a buyer is a lot more
brain wrecking then you think. I dont see that glamour side to it, unless im just one super retarded buyer- which is quiet possible seeing as i have never done this before!
One thing i have learnt is that you really need to pay attention to detail (something iv never been good at as i have the attention span of a goldfish), as its not just the look of a garment thats important- its all the other little things that matter, like fits and sizing, quality of fabrics, would my customers
fork out there life savings on this item as really there is no point having a shit hot garment sitting on the racks looking all pretty but no one being able to afford it. Its like a massive tease.
Second thing is your relationshp with both the designers & sales agents. If i think they are as dull as a door knob and they don't understand me and what my store is about then our professional relationship is doomed. Its only been once that i didnt pick up a sick ass label because of the sales agent. She didnt do her homework and was just trying to sell me as much as possible.
BAD MOVE BITCH.
And thirdly, the label name has to be cool. Sounds a bit discrimitive but honestly if someone asked what you wearing and you say "oh its by Pinky Fish" id cringe. they'd cringe.
Its like boys names. No matter how hot the guy is there is no way in hell id shack up with a Donald, or Walter or Rupert or Gazza. You just don't go there.
(shit i really hope no one reading this is named any of those)

See this is how we roll. All day. Every day. See any glitzglamour to that? Nope neither do i..

Todays outfit:

+yes i know i have worn the same yellow boots but they just go so well with every out fit so why not wear them 24/7!

+how fricken awesome is this print!

+Wearing: Vintage Emanuel Ungaro jacket, Jeremy Scott leggings, cotton on baggy tank,
OS bone necklace, dotti yellow boots, karen walker sunglasses,
None the Richer pony hair clutch.

Tonight we are attending:
+AN ODE TO NO ONE runway show
+EMMA MULHOLLAND launch party

+DIARY OF A FASHION WEEK HOE//: DAY 2

One thing i noticed today down at MBFW was how
nearly every 10th girl was wearing a different version of the
Isabel Marant Willow sneakers.
Last year every cat & dog had the Alexander Wang Diego bag, so i guess the sneakers must
be this years "must buy to make everyone think im really cool" item.

+Wearing: Perks & Mini tropical leggings, American Apparel Slouch tee,
Dotti cheap as shit yellow boots, +ESTATEofMIND beanie, I Envy Alex faux fur bag,
Kate McCoy Necklace.

Im not really dressing any different from what i usually wear am i...? meh this is my style im not going to dress up and pretend im a big deal just for one week when really im not.

On today's list:

+EMMA MULHOLLAND mens&women's wear showing
Fuck me, this girl just keep's getting better and better. Emma's designs are the EXACT image we try and portray here in the shop- Quirky. Eccentric. Colourful. And to make things better she has designed some mens wear too!!
Boys you no longer have to squeeze into those super slim girls garments.
*sneak Peek*

+FLOWERS FOR A VAGABOND runway show
Being with us from the very start, Toby has gone from strength to strength with each collection outdoing the last! Titled "Desirable Darkness" this collection shows a good mix of
blacks, metalics and even a splash of colour!
*sneak peek*

+COLLECTING PRETTY BOYS mens& women's wear showing
To be honest i wouldn't have a clue about this label as im doing a showing before i see the show!
I know they are from Melbourne and thats about it! My showing is late tonight so tomorrow il have some sneak peek pics!
+TALULAH runway show
Yesterday we had the showing, today was the show!
Using LOTS of colour & prints (my 2 fav things), this collection is a little bit
sports luxe + a lil bit neon raver
*Sneak Peek*

Iv never been into strappy heels, but these hot lil stud muffins i may just
change for.

Due to Matt being a Lazy dick and not going to the Song For A Mute show, we have no sneak peeks for that! soz!

P.s i just want to apologies, for the first time i actually read a few of my posts- and my god i have a filthy mouth! I didn't realise i swore so much ahahaah and jesus don't even get me started on my spelling and grammar! But hey i know im no real blogger (more amateur) and this is more of an added extra insight for my store and what it's about, rather than the full on professional blogger shit thang. so FUCK IT!
